What is Thao Muai?

Thao Muai(Gnetum montanum)is a large, woody climbing plant found in the forests of Thailand and Southeast Asia. It’s easily spotted by its long, rope-like vines and oval leaves. In Thai traditional medicine, the stem(“Thao” in Thai)and leaves are most commonly used.

Folk use:The name literally means “fatigue vine” or “vine for tiredness,” reflecting its classic use as a remedy for body aches, fatigue, and muscle pain.
